Manage payroll operations for over 150 permanent staff and up to 1,000 casual employees across Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role
  • End-to-end responsibility for accurate payroll processing, maintaining compliance with multiple awards and agreements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, ensuring efficient system optimization.
Main Responsibilities
  • Oversight of end-to-end payroll processing for permanent and casual employees across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Management of four monthly payroll cycles (AU and NZ, permanent & casual).
  • Mentorship and supervision of a Payroll Officer, fostering skills development within the team.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements across multiple modern awards and classifications.
  • Regular payroll audits to ensure employee leave balances and entitlements are accurate.
  • Complex calculations for backpays, terminations, redundancies, allowances, and overtime.
  • Collaboration with HR, Finance, and Legal to resolve payroll issues and maintain governance standards.
  • Identification of opportunities for automation and process improvement.
