As a Purchasing Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing support to Supply & Demand Planners, Company Branches and the Operations Team.
About the RoleThis role involves generating purchase orders, delivery instructions, goods receipting in the system, and cost calculations. You will also confirm ETA dates on purchase orders and update delivery dates in ERP. Additionally, you will reconcile purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
- Sales forecasting and inventory control are crucial in maintaining consistent stock levels in line with sales.
- Effective management of relationships with suppliers is essential, keeping them informed on order status at all times.
- Liaising with internal sales teams ensures customers are kept up-to-date regarding stock levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic input into sales forecasting and inventory control initiatives to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding stock levels.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a purchasing support role or similar position.
- Exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities.
- Proficient in MS Office and M3 software is highly desirable.
This role requires a highly motivated and organised individual who can work independently and as part of a team to provide insights that improve the purchasing process.
