About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a senior-level planner with excellent knowledge and strategic acumen. As an advisor to the Corporate Counsel team, you will contribute expertise to support community interests and meet planning objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure planning matters are correctly assessed in relation to compliance with relevant controls.
  • Prepare documents, including those to be filed in Court on behalf of Council, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and workflow to accommodate internal and external stakeholders' needs.
  • Manage consultant work effectively to ensure the defence of appeals.
  • Implement processes efficiently using Council's business process management system.
  • Consult with all stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Requirements
  • Degree qualifications in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in planning-related matters, demonstrating exceptional knowledge and skills.
  • Current class C driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Superior level of knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations.
  • High-level understanding of NSW Planning Legislation and related policies.
  • High-level comprehension of the NSW Land and Environment Court procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
