About the Role

As a Green Infrastructure Team Leader, you will play a vital role in leading a team of landscape professionals to deliver high-quality maintenance and management of Monash Council's open spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve a range of green infrastructure assets using sound horticultural practices and skills.
  • Operate and maintain horticultural and landscape plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Lead the team in playground maintenance, repairs, and inspections, guaranteeing safe facilities for users.
  • Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and contractors to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and enforce compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and relevant Council policies.
  • Restore and rejuvenate urban landscapes through minor landscaping and restoration works.
  • Implement naturestrip reinstatements, timber fencing/bollard installations, and unsealed path maintenance/construction projects.
About You

To succeed in this role, you must be highly motivated, approachable, flexible, and hardworking. You should be a natural team player who can develop leadership skills while leveraging your expertise in horticulture and passion for working in dynamic environments.

Specifically, you will need:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscaping/Construction) or equivalent, with substantial experience in related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hard and soft landscape maintenance, as well as equipment operation.
  • A commitment to occupational health and safety, quality control processes, and environmental sustainability.
  • A valid Victorian driver's license and willingness to obtain Medium Rigid Truck and Skid Steer Loader licenses within the first three months of employment.
  • Traffic management accreditation and basic carpentry trade skills.
