Working as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families experiencing conflict.

Role Overview

This part-time role involves working 3 days a week, with Tuesday, Thursday and Friday being your regular days. You will be based in the heart of Sydney.

About the Role

You will provide interventions to families who are struggling to reach agreements regarding parenting arrangements for their children and/or property distribution. Interventions include mediation, therapeutic mediation, legally assisted mediation, and child inclusive practice within the Family Law Act.

We offer innovative telehealth and digital options for providing services to families. You will work closely with a dynamic team of therapists and FDRPs to support separated families.

About You

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Accreditation by the Australian Attorney-General's Department (AGD) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or have eligibility to apply for accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, or social work.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or ability to complete training to meet accreditation requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of child inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledge of community services related to families experiencing relationship difficulties and child protection issues.
  • The ability to work independently and contribute to team functioning.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and writing skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to meet program-specific client targets.
