Job Overview:

  • Critical Role in Shaping the Future of Video-Driven Learning: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying solutions that directly impact students and educators worldwide. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of video-driven learning and making it accessible to all.
  • Design and Develop Robust Systems: You will design and develop robust, scalable systems that deliver ultra-fast, seamless video experiences. This includes working with cutting-edge technologies to ensure high-quality performance and user engagement.
  • Collaborate with Talented Peers: Collaborate with talented peers in an agile, creative environment to drive innovation and growth. Our team is passionate about leveraging technology to revolutionize education, and we need your skills to make it happen.
  • Take Ownership of End-to-End Features: Take ownership of end-to-end features, from ideation to production, fuelling growth in both our Product and Platform teams. This means being responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality features that meet the needs of our users.
  • Modern Stack and New Tools: Design and deploy solutions using a modern stack including React, Typescript, C#/.NET, and experiment with new tools to raise the bar for quality and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Solid Understanding of Fundamentals: Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals. Proficiency in programming languages, software development methodologies, and testing frameworks is essential for this role.
  • 5+ Years Experience with React: 5 years+ experience with React and Typescript. Familiarity with front-end frameworks, libraries, and toolsets is crucial for delivering high-quality applications.
  • SPA Architectures and Patterns: Knowledge of Single Page Application (SPA) architectures and patterns. Experience with architecting and implementing SPAs, as well as ensuring optimal performance and scalability, is necessary.
  • Browser Storage Technologies: Understanding of browser storage technologies, including cookies and local/session storage. Proficiency in storing and retrieving data securely and efficiently is required.
  • Web Security Fundamentals: Strong understanding of web security fundamentals, including HTTP, AJAX, REST, sockets, XSS, and CORS. Ensuring the security and integrity of our applications is paramount.
  • Version Control Experience: Experience with version control, specifically Git. Familiarity with branching models, merge strategies, and conflict resolution is essential for efficient collaboration and code management.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are vital for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions is crucial for driving business outcomes.
