About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team in our multi award-winning aged care residence, Lansdowne Gardens, in Neutral Bay (Sydney lower North Shore). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering meals to residents at the premium level of service expected by Cranbrook Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the presentation of the dining room to ensure food safety and premium service standards are met.
  • Serve meals in the dining room, being sensitive to resident preferences, religious and cultural backgrounds, and promoting opportunities for social interactions.
  • Provide a communication link between care services and the kitchen to support ongoing outstanding care for residents.
  • Offer feedback on meals and resident enjoyment of meals to the Executive Chef.

This part-time role is 3 days per week, with flexible hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Additional shifts may be available due to the facility's 7-day operation.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1+ year experience working in a kitchen or food service in a high-service restaurant or medium/large organisation.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Fluent spoken English and literate in English.
  • Previous experience in the health industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of infection control and Work, Health and Safety Legislation are also desirable.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a responsible approach to work procedures, and a client service focus.

Estimated Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
