About this Role

LION Digital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Web Development Director to lead our global team of web developers in managing and developing e-commerce projects for our clients.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our Sales and Marketing teams, leading web development scoping, planning, and technical architecture for all projects involving web development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to Australian and Global team members, communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training and development.
  • Manage a development team (currently 3 full-time developers) as well as third-party developers to ensure technical quality, product quality, and efficient use of resources.
  • Own and implement global standards for Development and QA processes for all projects and tasks.
  • Establish and maintain foundational code libraries to boost team efficiency and reduce time spent on repetitive tasks.
  • Take a hands-on development approach to create new pages and features across the whole stack, with a specific focus on the presentation layer.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and ensure team members are following them as well.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new technology beneficial to the organization's goals.
  • Participate in regional and global leadership meetings to discuss direction, strategy, and priority of internal initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 6+ years of e-commerce web development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a development team and technology vendors.
  • Experience building and managing nearshore, offshore, and onsite development teams simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of modern web application development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, REST, and React for front-end and back-end applications.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communications skills, and a passion for user-centered technology.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
