Job Title:

Product Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled technical professional to manage product development and quality assurance. This role will be based at our laboratory facility in Brisbane Airport, reporting directly to the Queensland Regional Manager.

The successful candidate will have strong materials skills and be able to develop relationships with sales & production teams and customers to offer a value package to the market that is hard to beat.

About the Role:

  • Provide high-level technical services to internal and external customers by assessing requirements and developing practical solutions.
  • Proactively develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant external customers, as well as with Plant Managers, Territory Sales Managers, Laboratory Supervisors and the Technical Service Team.
  • Continually look for and implement process improvements in all systems and processes.
  • Ensure internal and external customers are continually informed of data and trends in quality.
  • Promote sustainability improvements, particularly in lowering embodied carbon levels and supporting the circular economy.
  • Provide timely information to customers whenever product/process changes occur.
  • Address product performance issues and work with customers to improve their processes wherever possible.
  • Monitor raw material performance and consistency, and report any non-conformances.
  • Work with production personnel to ensure that production controls and standards are enforced and compliance with production and delivery processes is achieved.
  • Contribute towards encouraging safe practices at every opportunity.
  • Manage all aspects within the technical area of responsibility to ensure quality and consistency of products.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Civil / Materials Engineering / Concrete Technology, or the equivalent industry experience.
  • Ideal 5-10 years technical experience, within concrete or buildings industry.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques around the use of concrete would be an advantage.
  • Experience within Concrete Operations, including: plant processes, batching sequences, delivery processes would be well regarded.
  • Statistical analysis experience.
