The Procurement Strategist will play a critical role in leading the end-to-end source-to-pay cycle, supplier relationship management, contract governance, and supply chain risk mitigation for our client, a globally recognised mining company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a best-practice procurement and supply strategy across all sites.
- Lead a high-performing team to achieve cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management objectives.
- Drive data-driven decision-making to identify cost and efficiency opportunities across the supply chain.
- Align procurement processes with sustainability goals, including emissions reduction targets.
- Negotiate high-value contracts and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Build and nurture strong supplier relationships while engaging with key internal stakeholders.
- Oversee inventory and warehouse management to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, or a business-related discipline is required. Demonstrated leadership experience in procurement and supply chain, ideally within the mining, resources, or infrastructure sector is preferred. Proven experience in contracts negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimisation is essential. Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills are also necessary. A commitment to safety, governance, and risk management principles is expected.
