This role sits within the Group Corporate Services function and reports into the Executive Manager Customer & Product.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including category planning, execution, and performance management.

Your responsibilities will include developing and executing upon category plans that deliver value across the Business Banking and Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) Business Unit.

  1. You will work collaboratively with business leaders to develop, manage, and execute the agreed strategy.

  2. Advocate compliance to Bank-wide and Procurement processes.

  3. Deliver a strategy plan that covers business category requirements, broad and specific business objectives, the supply market in detail, spend analysis, demand drivers, and risk mitigation strategies.

  4. Identify metrics, tools, strategies, and processes to optimise procurement and continually drive productivity.

  5. Ensure savings and realised benefits are clearly defined, agreed, and recorded by the procurement team.

We're looking for individuals with:

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.

  • University Bachelor's degree in a business field.

  • Prior experience in managing categories in a Financial Institution would be desirable but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage influence stakeholders and work collaboratively with customers and suppliers.

  • Demonstrated experience of all Procurement process disciplines across the procurement lifecycle, including Category Management.

  • Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills and experience;

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to work well in a team environment, and adhere to the highest ethical standards.

  • A growth mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo; and

  • A high degree of problem-solving and decision-making ability.
