Disability Support Worker Job Description As a disability support worker, you will be providing care and assistance to clients in their homes or other settings. This is a rewarding role that requires empathy, understanding, and the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role and possess relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent. They will also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and domestic assistance to clients
  • Assist with medication administration and catheter care
  • Manage challenging behaviours and support clients with intellectual disabilities
  • Work with dementia and mental health clients
  • Use manual handling techniques, including hoists and transfers

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a support worker role
  • Covid-19 vaccination evidence (2x doses)
  • NDIS worker screening clearance
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working With Children Check
  • Current Driver's Licence (P1 or above) and access to a reliable vehicle
