Senior Industrial and Legal Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our team of industrial and legal officers.
The role provides leadership and supervision to a small team within the Workplace Advice and Support (WAS) Team. The successful candidate will work autonomously within a collaborative environment, reporting directly to the National Director of IR.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Directing the work of the team and delegating tasks as required
- Managing a caseload of individual and/or collective industrial/legal matters
- Leading complex industrial bargaining campaigns where required
- Managing and leading projects, including training, briefing materials, presentations, and media materials
- Supervising less experienced employees, including provision of legal supervision
- Contributing to team reporting and projects
- Working with and assisting the National Director of IR as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Advanced knowledge of industrial relations and employment law
- Proven experience in managing industrial and legal matters
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to negotiate effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to union values and principles
