Job Description: We are seeking to appoint a Career Practitioner who is innovative and can work independently and collaboratively across a school to make decisions and enact necessary curriculum reform. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers with an interest in student career pathways. As a Career Practitioner, you will implement programs and provide resources to embed career development across learning areas. Your role will be to deliver career learning lessons (Years 7–12), develop industry partnerships, and provide resources on work capabilities and readiness. You will also facilitate Careers Expo and Industry Forums and provide crucial support to parents and educators with career pathway information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine career aspirations and achievements for students.
- Help connect current learning, work, and life opportunities.
- SUPport students to make informed choices and take personal responsibility.
- Provide access to relevant and timely information and networks.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of the Safety Bay SHS context in relation to local employers, community agencies, and training providers. A recognised Graduate Certificate in Career Development or willingness to complete this qualification is essential. Time will be made available for successful applicants to complete the qualification, and study will be incorporated into the role in the first 12 months.
