Aufderheide Law Group is seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Trade Marks Counsel to join our team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented and driven individual who can excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Senior Trade Marks Counsel, you will be responsible for advising clients on a wide range of trade mark matters, including searches, contracts, registration, prosecution, opposition, non-use and licensing, infringement actions, dispute resolution and risk management/regulatory compliance.

You will have autonomy and full ownership of your own trade mark practice, and will work closely with our team to develop business development/marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on trade mark law and policy, including search and clearance advice, drafting and negotiating trade mark agreements, and prosecuting trade mark applications;
  • Managing complex trade mark disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution;
  • Providing strategic advice on trade mark portfolio management, including portfolio audits and optimization;
  • Developing and implementing business development/marketing initiatives to grow the firm's trade mark practice;
  • Mentoring and training junior lawyers and staff in trade mark law and procedure.

About You:

We are interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • a strong technical knowledge of trade mark law and procedure, including Australian and international trade mark laws and regulations;
  • 4+ years of experience in trade marks, preferably with a focus on prosecution and litigation;
  • a proven track record of delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues;
  • the ability to think creatively and strategically, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to complex problems;
  • a willingness to relocate to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as:
