Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Pastry Specialist to join our team at W Sydney. As an integral part of our pastry kitchen, you will showcase your creativity and expertise in all areas of pastry preparation.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced pastry professional to work with our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation of high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Baking and decorating skills by personally performing tasks;
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists;
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use;
  • Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods;
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures;
  • Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management;
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area; set-up and break-down work station; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures;
  • Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout shift.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent baking and decorating skills;
  • Strong knowledge of food safety handling policies and procedures;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills;
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
