Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Children's Assistant Team Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a specified Social Care Manager to ensure the needs of children, young people, and their families are identified, safeguarded, and monitored in accordance with the requirements of the Children Act, statutory guidance, and local service policy.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people, and their families in Knowsley. You will also assist and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager, ensuring effective delivery of services, and support the making of key decisions in respect of children in accordance with legislation and local policies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make good decisions based on available information. They will also possess knowledge of service needs, competent IT skills, and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.

In addition to these skills, we require the successful candidate to have a flexible approach to work and working hours, as well as the ability to write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files. They will also need to be comfortable representing the team or Service at internal or multi-agency forums, including operational meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
