Job Description

The primary function of this role is to support the integration and commissioning of autonomous hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for working cross-functionally with development and deployment teams, as well as clients, to facilitate a seamless transition to deployment of the autonomous haulage solution.

This position involves a wide range of duties, including integrating, debugging, and commissioning drive-by-wire and autonomy hardware. Additionally, it entails deploying and testing autonomous vehicle software and dynamic controls in both production facilities and in-field settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the development and application of Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) solutions for mine site operations. They will also possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This role requires the candidate to perform test execution for new firmware, software, or hardware, deploy software on embedded Linux controllers, and develop test plans and schedules. They will also be responsible for developing test instructions for vehicle operators and coordinating failure analysis activities to identify root causes of customer-reported issues.

The selected candidate will contribute to customer documentation and training material for various software applications, assist customers with configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in an relevant engineering discipline or trade certification in electrical, auto electrician, or mechanical with field-based experience working with AHS/OEM machinery within mining or heavy industry.

  • Experience in installing vehicle electrical hardware;
  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing requirements;
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a testing/application environment within AHS or autonomous applications within mining operations;
  • Valid Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.
