About The Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of transportation, including planning and scheduling routes to optimize efficiency and minimize costs. This role involves a range of tasks, from dispatching vehicles and drivers to maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
- Coordinate the dispatch of vehicles and drivers, ensuring that all journeys are safely executed and delivered on time
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and inspections, in compliance with relevant regulations
- Prepare and manage transportation documents, such as bills of lading, manifests, and invoices, accurately and efficiently
- Update and maintain transportation databases and systems, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and accurate
- Liaise with drivers to provide instructions and respond to queries, ensuring seamless communication throughout the journey
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays, providing clear and concise information at all times
- Work closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate activities and ensure that all operations run smoothly
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality
- Monitor and enforce health and safety standards for drivers and vehicles, minimizing risk and preventing accidents
- Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making recommendations for process enhancements and cost savings
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with previous experience in a transport or logistics administration role. Key skills include excellent communication skills, a calm and professional telephone manner, basic data entry skills, Microsoft Office and Excel skills, self-motivation, discipline, reliability, punctuality, and team collaboration.
