Product Developer: Sportswear Specialist

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Threadhunters as a Product Developer: Sportswear Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing commercially viable products for our sportswear fashion house.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Technical Packages: Create high-quality technical packages, including garment construction, spec measurements, grading, and embellishment information.
  2. Design and Create CADs: Develop CADs for our technical packages to assist the factory in sampling and production of our cut & sew garments.
  3. Coordinate Sampling: Ensure quality and design meet customer expectations by coordinating sampling of garments and ensuring timely creation and delivery of samples.
  4. Communicate Effectively: Communicate promptly to the Development Manager of any concerns or issues relating to sample delivery, which may impact customer deliveries.
  5. Review Pre-Production and Shipment Samples: Review pre-production and shipment samples for bulk production to ensure quality and consistency.
  6. Manage Returns and Faulty Goods: Review faulty returns and goods from customers, maintain the OTS Credits, Returns, and Manufacturing Fault Log spreadsheet.
  7. Setup Embellishments and Digitizing: Setup embellishments and digitizing of customer logos for placement for both local and offshore vendors, including color matching of threads and adjustment to plot sheets for embroidery and matching of pantone to Supacolour suite.
  8. Ensure Consistent Sizing and Fit: Ensure consistent sizing and fit across the range.
  9. Be Flexible and Adaptable: Be flexible to execute the above tasks across departments where necessary.
  10. Report on Works in Progress: Report on works in progress and provide updates to key stakeholders (Maintaining of WIP documents).

Requirements:

  1. Demonstrated Background in Fashion Design: A demonstrated background in fashion design with specific in-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabrications, fit, shape, trims, etc.
  2. Comprehensive Adobe Suite Knowledge: Comprehensive Adobe Suite Knowledge, proficient in Illustrator.
  3. Grading Knowledge: Grading knowledge.
  4. Intermediate Excel Experience: Intermediate Excel experience.
  5. Strong Initiative and Time Management Skills: A strong sense of initiative with exceptional time management skills.
  6. Ability to Prioritize and Adapt: A thirst for high-pressure situations with an ability to prioritize conflicting demands and adapt to meet regularly changing needs.
  7. Foster Positive Working Relationships: Foster and manage positive working relationships across departments.
  8. Minimum Three Years Experience: Minimum three years experience in a related role.
  9. Degree in Fashion Design: Degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  10. Accuracy and Communication Skills: Accuracy, excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  11. Ability to Work in a Team: Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
  12. Solution Finding and Patience: Solution finding, patience, and determination.
  13. Knowledge of Garment Production Methods: A knowledge of garment production methods.
  14. Understanding of Manufacturing Processes and Textile Properties: A good understanding of manufacturing processes and textile properties.
  15. Keen Interest in Clothing and Fashion: A keen interest in clothing and fashion.
  16. Methodical and Innovative Approach: A methodical, innovative approach.
  17. Good Organisational and Planning Skills: Good organisational and planning skills.

Salary: $80-90K+SUPER
