Product Developer: Sportswear Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly successful sportswear fashion house based in the Eastern Suburbs as a Product Developer. The company offers a dynamic working environment and career opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities- Product Development: Produce commercially viable products for the cut & sew categories, ensuring high standards of quality and fit for customers.
- Technical Packages: Create technical packages, including garment construction, spec measurements, grading, and embellishment information.
- CAD Design: Develop CAD designs for tech packs to assist the factory in sampling and production of cut & sew garments.
- Sampling and Quality Control: Coordinate sampling of garments to ensure quality and design meet customer expectations, and communicate promptly with the Development Manager on any concerns or issues.
- Pre-Production and Shipment Review: Review pre-production and shipment samples for bulk production, and maintain the OTS Credits, Returns, and Manufacturing Fault Log spreadsheet.
- Embellishment and Digitizing: Set up embellishment and digitizing of customer logos for placement with local and offshore vendors, including color matching of threads and adjustment to plot sheets for embroidery and matching of pantone to Supacolour suite.
- Sizing and Fit: Ensure consistent sizing and fit across the range.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible to execute tasks across departments where necessary, and report on works in progress and provide updates to key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Fashion Design Background: A demonstrated background in fashion design with specific in-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabrications, fit, shape, trims, etc.
- Adobe Suite Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe Suite, proficient in Illustrator.
- Grading Knowledge: Grading knowledge.
- Excel Experience: Intermediate Excel experience.
- Initiative and Time Management: A strong sense of initiative with exceptional time management skills.
- High Pressure Situations: A thirst for high-pressure situations with an ability to prioritize conflicting demands and adapt to meet regularly changing needs.
- Teamwork and Communication: Foster and manage positive working relationships across departments, and possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience and Education: Minimum three years of experience in a related role, and a degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Accuracy, and excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Garment Production: A good understanding of manufacturing processes and textile properties, and a keen interest in clothing and fashion.
- Methodical and Innovative Approach: A methodical, innovative approach, and good organizational and planning skills.
