About the Role
Mabel Park State High School is a unique educational institution with a growing student population.
We cater for students in years 7 to 12 and focus on individual achievement, student welfare, responsible behaviour, education of the whole person, leadership, and providing opportunities and choices.
As a Department Head
You will lead curriculum development, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and foster positive relationships between students, teachers, and stakeholders. You are accountable to the Principal or delegate and have responsibility for leading the department, embedding socially just practices, setting high standards, and forming strategic partnerships.
The role requires active participation in continuous professional growth, ongoing development, and being futures-oriented and strategic. You must understand legislation and policies impacting education and manage resources to achieve organisational goals.
Key responsibilities include developing a shared educational vision, delivering quality outcomes, and acting as a leader in the school community.
