Service Desk Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Desk Analyst to join our team at Western Downs Regional Council. As a key member of our Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to our departmental clients, resolving customer problems through effective questioning, negotiation, and conflict management.
Key Responsibilities- Utilise basic IT knowledge to receive and handle requests for first-level technical support, logging problems, requests, and questions, and responding to common requests for support by providing information to enable problem resolution.
- Escalate unresolved calls as appropriate, working closely with the Infrastructure Team Leader to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our software and hardware systems, as well as Microsoft Office software, to provide expert-level support to our clients.
- Ability to rapidly acquire the ability to diagnose low-level application, web, computer, or network errors analytically and to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
- Sound general IT knowledge, including hardware and software, and Microsoft Office software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform computer and peripheral troubleshooting.
