Job Title: Cleaning Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented cleaning professional to join our team at the Department of Education. As a cleaning professional, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school premises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain carpets and hard floor surfaces through regular cleaning and polishing
  • Clean toilets, furniture, fittings, and windows to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Handle tasks such as dusting and rubbish removal to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Perform vacation cleaning duties including stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, and pressure cleaning verandas
Requirements:
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights
  • Working With Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets and equipment operating instructions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use cleaning equipment, including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work as a member of a team
Selection Criteria:
  • Demonstrated ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions, and training guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to, use cleaning equipment including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and work as a member of a team
