Job Description

As a Cleaning Professional, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school facilities. Your responsibilities will include performing routine cleaning tasks, such as dusting, sweeping, and mopping, as well as handling special projects like deep cleaning or renovations.

  • Maintain internal and external cleaning duties, including carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilets, furniture, fittings, and windows.
  • Perform tasks like dusting and rubbish removal.
  • Participate in vacation cleaning duties such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, and pressure cleaning verandas.
  • Report faults, maintenance issues, and incidents to the designated supervisor while ensuring schools are cleaned and maintained in compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of school facilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping

• Handle special projects, such as deep cleaning or renovations

• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the school

Requirements

• Valid Working With Children Check

• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit

• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment

• Ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions, and training guidelines

• Knowledge of and ability to use cleaning equipment, including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners

• Effective communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team
