Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a critical role in improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. Your primary goal will be to empower participants to gain control, independence and make positive lifestyle changes.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work closely with participants, their families and service providers to create a supportive and safe environment. You will provide professional information to people with disabilities and their support circle regarding evidence-based approaches to reduce the impact of challenging behaviour.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building close relationships with participants and their families
  • Providing professional information and support
  • Ensuring support plans align with NDIS plans
  • Undertaking behavioural assessments
  • Developing and implementing intervention strategies

You will have the opportunity to develop and implement positive behaviour support plans, ensuring that all interventions align with good clinical practice and jurisdictional requirements.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with our team to ensure that we deliver high-quality support that makes a real difference in the lives of our participants.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced practitioner or fresh graduate with a qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or similar. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary practices and trends in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Completed degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or similar
  • Experience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
