Clinical Nurse - Operating Theatres

Our perioperative nursing team is seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Nurse to join our Main Operating Theatres team at Princess Alexandra Hospital, a leading 21-theatre tertiary facility.

About the Role:

This role is pivotal in delivering safe, person-centred, and specialist perioperative care for patients with complex needs. You will be responsible for providing advanced clinical leadership in assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of perioperative nursing care, with a focus on vascular and endovascular surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to nursing staff and students in the operating theatre environment.
  • Contribute to education, research, and quality improvement initiatives to strengthen patient care and service outcomes.
  • Participate in an on-call roster and work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
Requirements:

You are a dynamic and dedicated nursing professional who thrives in high-acuity environments and is passionate about advancing perioperative nursing care. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Extensive perioperative experience, ideally in vascular and endovascular surgery.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to guide, mentor, and support colleagues in a complex operating theatre environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, education, and contributing to clinical teaching and research.
