About the Role

MUFG Americas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Front Office Portfolio team as an Associate Vice President, Credit & Portfolio. In this role, you will play a key part in managing credit risk for our Diversified Industries (DI) stream in Oceania.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews for a portfolio of DI clients, including listed and private groups across various sectors.
  • Monitor covenant compliance and support refinancing and other revenue initiatives across the Portfolio.
  • Coordinate with the MUFG network to ensure effective risk management and limit allocation.
  • Interact with clients on tasks required for on-boarding and account management.
  • Support the national GCIB Credit & Portfolio team in leading portfolio analysis, including sector risk/return and strategic review processes.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years' experience in institutional lending and credit research for VP, and 2-5 years for Associate.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Solid mathematical knowledge, Excel spreadsheet skills, research & analytical skills.
  • Broad Australian industry, business and economic understanding.
  • Ability to engage in independent research & analysis of customers and markets, and apply critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong financial analysis acumen and ability to assess large sets of data, make expert judgment, and identify key risks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sound platform of knowledge in credit writing, financial analysis and modelling, legal documentation and debt structuring.
  • Self-starter with drive, initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Team player with ability to work independently and prioritise various work.
