About the Role

As a Personal Care Specialist for Seniors, you will provide tailored home care assistance to older Australians residing in Bayside and surrounding suburbs, enabling them to maintain their independence at home. This is a casual opportunity with potential for growth into permanent part-time positions, with working hours between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will assist multiple individuals throughout the day and provide transportation, requiring a willingness to travel. Some of the areas you may be assigned to support include Bayside, Capalaba, Thornlands, and Victoria Point. You will be compensated for your travel time and kilometres travelled.


Key Responsibilities

  • Domestic assistance duties, including light cleaning, changing bed linen, washing, and laundry
  • In-home supports encompassing meal preparation and assistance with daily living
  • Personal care services, including showering, daily hygiene, monitoring health and well-being (e.g., identifying wound care needs, skin integrity)
  • Social supports, such as accompaniment to medical appointments, participation in local community activities, and maintaining social networks

Skills & Experience:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or similar) is required
  • Passion for making a positive impact on our ageing community
  • Australian Driver's Licence and minimum third-party insurance
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

The successful candidate will be required to undergo probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
