Youth Intervention Officer

We are seeking individuals with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively, remain composed under pressure and contribute to the rehabilitation of young offenders by guiding them towards better life choices.
- Safeguard the welfare and needs of young people in custody, ensuring their health, hygiene and wellbeing are catered for on a daily basis.
- Respond promptly to challenging situations and maintain a secure environment for both young people and staff within the centre.
- Proactively prevent risk and resolve problems by serving as a positive role model, reinforcing boundaries when necessary.
- Collaborate with relevant authorities to implement legislation, policies and procedures effectively.
This role requires working varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will be part of a supportive team environment and have access to exclusive staff benefits.
To succeed in this position, you must meet certain requirements, including holding a valid Provisional 2 NSW driver's licence, undergoing a National Background Police Check and obtaining NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
