Renewable Energy Commercial Lead

Sydney, Australia - We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our commercial strategy for renewable energy projects. This senior opportunity will play a crucial role in driving the success of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wind, and Solar projects in the region.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project finance, contract law, and commercial negotiations. They will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies to maximize revenue and profitability of BESS, Wind, and Solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Commercial Manager will develop and execute commercial strategies to maximize revenue and profitability of BESS, Wind, and Solar projects.
  • They will lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to secure favourable terms and agreements.
  • Monitoring market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks will be a key responsibility.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams including project development, finance, and legal to ensure alignment of commercial objectives.
  • Managing project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost controls to optimize project economics.
  • Assessing commercial feasibility of new opportunities and providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, partners, and government agencies.
  • Overseeing contract management processes including drafting, negotiation, and administration.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to protect project investments.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports and updates on commercial performance to senior leadership.

  • Proven experience in commercial management within the renewable energy sector, with specific expertise in BESS, Wind, and Solar projects is required.
