Global Trade and Investment Director

This strategic role oversees the coordination of critical corporate functions, including Finance, ICT, HR, Legal, Governance, Risk, Procurement, Strategy, and Performance.
The incumbent will ensure the organisation operates with discipline, integrity, and remains delivery-focused, aligning its people, systems, and operations with its Strategic Plan.
- Drive organisational performance, reform, and digital uplift to enable trade and investment growth.
- Lead corporate services to ensure robust governance, compliance, and accountability.
- Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to deliver Queensland Government trade and investment priorities.
- Shaping whole-of-government strategies and providing policy advice to Ministers and senior officials.
- Build enduring stakeholder relationships across government, industry, and international partners.
Proven experience in leading large corporate and operational functions in government or globally connected organisations.
Key skills include:
- Deep knowledge of trade, investment, economic development, and Queensland's sectoral strengths.
- Strong governance, risk, and compliance expertise.
- Exceptional leadership capability, inspiring high-performing executive teams and driving organisational reform.
- Outstanding political judgement and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A global outlook with international literacy and understanding of Australia's trade and diplomatic relationships.
