Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for geology? We are seeking an experienced Geology Assistant to join our team in Western Australia. In this role, you will provide quality technical services and collaborate with the broader mining team to maximise operation performance.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale gold mining project with a production profile above 10 years. As a Geology Assistant, your main responsibility will be to interact daily with the Geology team to arrange daily work activities and ensure they are fully planned and coordinated.

You will also assist with production activities such as ore mark-ups, ore spotting, and collecting in-pit samples. Additionally, you will be responsible for RC drilling activities including sampling and rock chip collection, diamond drill core processing, cutting and sampling activities, and collaborating with project geologists and drillers to address drilling or core-related issues.

To be successful in this role, you will need to ensure sample handling and data recording meet QAQC standards and complete all tasks associated with daily and weekly sample dispatch services to the assay laboratory.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions is essential
  • A current Western Australian driver's licence is required
  • Forklift certificate and Apply First Aid certificate are desirable
  • Basic level of Microsoft Office Applications is necessary
