Business Systems Analyst

Client: Government Agency
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with expertise in data governance and management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles, governance policies, and experience working with stakeholders in a public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to data governance and compliance initiatives.
- Design and implement data governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and processes to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with IT, data teams, and business units to improve data quality, availability, and accessibility across the organization.
- Develop strategies to mitigate data-related risks, including privacy, security, and accuracy concerns.
- Analyze and document current data management practices, identifying gaps and recommending best practices for continuous improvement.
- Support the development of metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations to ensure alignment and understanding of data governance strategies across departments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, FOIA).
- Provide subject matter expertise in data governance tools and technology platforms.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in Data Governance, Data Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices, including data stewardship, data quality management, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with government policies and regulatory requirements related to data handling (e.g., privacy laws, security standards).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering actionable insights.
- Experience working in or with government agencies or public sector organizations is highly desirable.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in tools such as SQL, data visualization tools, and governance software.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Certifications in Data Governance (e.g., DGSP, CDMP) or Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in data & governance within a government or highly regulated environment
