Job Title: Genetics Professional

This role involves working in a clinical genetics unit. To be successful, applicants will hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as science or social work and a postgraduate qualification in genetics.

  • The successful applicant will provide genetic information and counselling to clients and their families, organise appropriate genetic tests under the supervision of a clinical geneticist/relevant medical officer, and offer support to individuals and families to mitigate the impact of a genetic diagnosis.

  • Provide emotional support to individuals and families to minimise the impact of a genetic diagnosis.
Requirements:
  • Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Social Work).
  • Have a postgraduate qualification in genetics.
  • Be eligible for board certification with a relevant professional body and commit to achieving full certification.
Working Environment:

Applicants will work in a clinical genetics unit at a major hospital.
