About This Role

As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape. With our vision to enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians, we are looking for someone to help us deliver different energy systems in an essential, complex environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise and leadership skills to a challenging yet rewarding role. You will be responsible for managing large-scale, technically complex projects from inception to commercial operation, offering expert support and guidance to regional teams, ensuring seamless project delivery across the board.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering medium to large-scale, technically complex projects with a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach. They will also possess strong expertise in power system modeling tools, well-developed experience in managing generator connection processes, and solid understanding of the electricity industry.

What You Will Do
  • Manage large-scale, technically complex projects from inception to commercial operation.
  • Offer expert support and guidance to regional teams, ensuring seamless project delivery across the board.
  • Build and enhance collaborative relationships with clients by proactively addressing project challenges.
  • Ensure all decisions are grounded in solid data, clearly documented, and made with transparency and pragmatism at their core.
What You Will Bring
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or other discipline relevant to power systems analysis.
  • Proven leadership in delivering medium to large-scale, technically complex projects with a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach.
  • Strong expertise in power system modeling tools, such as PSSE or PSCAD, with the ability to interpret and apply study results effectively.
  • Well-developed experience in managing generator connection processes and resolving performance issues within the National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Solid understanding of the electricity industry, including NEM operations, generator behavior, network constraints, and the commercial/legal aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects.
