Overview

This role involves overseeing transport portfolios, leveraging a combination of in-house assets and outsourced services to meet customer needs and drive profitability.

  • Developing and implementing transport strategies to align with business objectives.
  • Managing Americold's fleet and assets to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Maintaining compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR standards.
  • Nurturing strong relationships with carrier partners and ensuring audit readiness.
  • Improving Transport Management Systems for enhanced visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Commercial Finance and Business Development on pricing and tenders.
  • Overseeing P&L, budgeting, and reporting for transport operations.
  • Identifying and capitalizing on transport synergies and growth opportunities.
  • Fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • 6–10 years' experience in transport operations across Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer relationship and vendor management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transport, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in CoR, NHVR compliance, or relevant transport safety standards.
  • Proficiency in TMS and logistics software.
  • Knowledge of cold chain logistics and food safety regulations.
