Job Overview

This role involves working as a Case Manager in the Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment program. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, case management, and treatment to individuals with drug and alcohol issues.

About the Role
  • Engage with individuals before the court who have a history of or current drug use, and provide assessment and case management to improve lifestyle and health and reduce re-offending.
  • Provide comprehensive support, including assessment, intensive case management, counselling and treatment to defendants with a drug and/or alcohol issue.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tailored treatment plans for individuals with complex needs related to drug and alcohol use.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic treatment and prevention approaches.
  • Establish strong relationships with government and non-government services, and community groups to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Requirements
  • Hold tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist, or tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of evidence-based treatment and prevention approaches in the alcohol and other drugs field applicable to individuals presenting with complex needs.
