Overview
As a senior electrical engineer specializing in traction power and high voltage systems, you will play a crucial role in designing and coordinating the delivery of complex rail electrification projects. With a focus on supporting clients across the entire asset lifecycle, from strategic planning to delivery, your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of these projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design and coordinate traction power systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and protection studies, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in AC/DC traction electrification design and substation design, leveraging your knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and manage design packages and teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Contribute to tender proposals and understand client requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Apply HV/LV earth grid design principles and safety standards, prioritizing the well-being of personnel and assets.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics or Power Engineering, with a strong foundation in mathematical and scientific principles.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in detailed traction power supply engineering design, demonstrating expertise in software such as PSCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, DiaLux, Opentrak, and OpenPowerNet.
  • Strong background in High Voltage and Low Voltage systems, including earth grid design, with a deep understanding of IEC/EN/ASA/AS/AMB standards.
  • Experience with Sydney Trains and/or Transport for NSW projects, showcasing adaptability and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific software and tools, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage scope effectively, prioritizing task management and time allocation.
