Boiler Technician Role

This position involves performing a variety of boiler making tasks, including welding, cutting, grinding, heat treatment and stress relieving of steels.

The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine and emergency maintenance and repairs of machinery in accordance with site safety protocols.

Other duties include general fabrication work in line with current projects, as well as general laboring and trade assistance tasks as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out various boiler making tasks including the use of welding, cutting, grinding, heat treatment and stress relieving of steels.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs of machinery in accordance with site safety processes.
  • General fabrication work in line with current projects.
  • General laboring and trade assistant work as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates must be physically fit and able to work with hand tools in a workshop environment.
  • Previous experience working as a trade assistant is highly regarded.
  • Forklift, HRWL, EWP, Dogger or Rigger qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience in fabrication, maintenance and repair of heavy diesel products, including engine overhauls and major repairs is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of equipment design and function is necessary.
  • A strong customer service focus is also important.
