About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance and Systems Officer to join our finance team on a 12-month non-ongoing contract. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to the Assistant Director of Budgets in performing internal and external budgeting functions, including portfolio budget statements, executive reporting, management reporting, and grant acquittal reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of internal budgets, data analysis, and management.
  • Prepare monthly reporting activities, including CFO reporting, capital reporting, capital spending, and budgeting.
  • Prepare portfolio budget documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate the grant acquittal reporting process for externally funded projects.
  • Ensure financial and procurement activity is accurately recorded and consistent with contracts, budgets, guidelines, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with system implementation changes and business improvement activities.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and support to staff, management, and clients.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants, and internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Developed accounting career within budgeting and analysis.
  • Ability to deliver at the APS5 or 6 level (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop budgets, forecast effectively, and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Completed or working towards completing CA/CPA.
  • Experience in a capital budgeting environment from a government or private sector environment.
  • Experience using Excel and Tech One.
