About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Southern NSW Local Health District as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Education, working in a rural health setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and education to our nursing and midwifery staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs to support the ongoing professional development of nursing and midwifery staff.
  • Work across our facilities throughout the district, providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and person-centered care to our patients.
  • Travel between sites covered, with free accommodation provided when away from base site.

Requirements
  • Current Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 12 months of commencement of position.
  • Currently FLECC credentialed or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 24 months of commencement of position.
  • Demonstrated three years' experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
  • Credentialed in Triage and as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement of position.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills, and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and preparedness to drive and travel long distance across rural and remote areas and preparedness to be away from home for extended periods of time, including traveling between district sites and staying in remote areas for work.
