Role Overview:
The Commercial & Packaging Quality Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing quality management across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring consumer safety and enhancing the overall experience with Ferrero products. This position is pivotal in promoting the 'Ferrero Quality Culture' and serves as a key resource for all quality-related matters. Responsibilities include the execution and monitoring of quality enhancement initiatives and various quality activities associated with commercial logistics, trade, retail environments, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives and strategies aligned with commercial quality objectives to optimize quality and freshness.
- Conduct monthly assessments of overall quality performance, tracking progress against targets for freshness, transit times, inventory management, and customer complaints.
- Serve as the local expert for shelf-life optimization and standardization.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to uphold quality standards in commercial logistics.
- Plan and execute audits, and work on stock management optimization and the safe disposal of returned products.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards in copacking activities by working closely with the commercial copacking team.
- Facilitate discussions with internal departments to address quality performance issues in trade and assist in forecasting to maintain quality and freshness.
- Contribute to packaging management efforts, including supplier selection, vendor assessment, and handling non-conformities.
- Oversee budget management, operational call center activities, and quality project initiatives.
- Lead and develop the local quality team, enhancing their capabilities.
Candidate Profile:
- A university degree in food science or a related field.
- Relevant experience in the food FMCG sector.
- Understanding of production techniques and quality standards within the food industry.
- Proven experience in quality control for high-volume production environments.
- Strong analytical skills with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities, capable of effective collaboration in a matrix organization.
- Experience in team management is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
