Disability Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to our clients in Adelaide. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

As a Disability Support Worker, your primary responsibility is to provide individualized care and support to people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care and assistance with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assisting with domestic duties, meal preparation, and household management to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Transporting clients to appointments and activities, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Offering social support and companionship to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
  • Encouraging life skills development and independence, empowering clients to make informed decisions about their lives.

Requirements:

  • Certification in Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, or Disability Work.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption.
  • Relevant DHS/NDIS checks and clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • WWCC, Criminal Record Check, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Driver's License and reliable vehicle for transporting clients.
  • Smartphone and Microsoft Office skills for effective communication and documentation.
