Manufacturing Improvement Specialist

This position focuses on enhancing technical and process efficiency within a production environment. The incumbent will evaluate new technologies, implement process changes, and develop systems to reduce costs, increase output, and enhance quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate innovative solutions and apply process modifications to decrease operating expenses, boost production, and improve product quality.
  • Lead technical initiatives in operating areas to resolve equipment and process-related issues.
  • Provide support data for all reports and performance updates.
  • Analyze data to minimize variability or improve performance.
  • Review production schedules and suggest adjustments for reduced downtime and/or changeovers when applicable.
  • Assist with designing solutions to eliminate equipment failures and process instabilities.
  • Develop working knowledge of process areas, including process flow, operator responsibility, major quality attributes, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering or Paper Science preferred.
  • Entry-level position with internship experience in manufacturing or paper industry preferred.
  • Basic understanding of PI (Process Information System).
  • Experience with Production Management systems beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with extreme temperatures.
