We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our kitchen and dining team as a Food Service Assistant.
About the Role:
The Food Service Assistant will play a vital role in providing nourishing meals to our residents, ensuring their health and well-being.
About You:
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness is required.
- A genuine passion for working with older people and enhancing their quality of life is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently is required.
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining residents' dignity and independence is essential.
- Alignment with Anglicare's Christian ethos and values is required.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals to residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dining areas, and food service spaces.
- Assist in meal setup, including setting tables and ensuring all utensils and crockery are clean.
- Deliver food and beverages to residents in the dining room and, when necessary, to their rooms.
- Ensure dietary requirements and preferences are met for each resident.
- Collaborate with the broader team to provide holistic support to residents.
- Collect, clean, and store dishes and utensils after meals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere within the care facility.
- Follow health, safety, and food hygiene standards always.
- To be successful in this role, you must have NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance.
