Key Role in Financial Crime Prevention

We seek an expert professional to assume a pivotal position within our organization. As the primary liaison and representative of our financial crime prevention team, you will foster strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and partners.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the public face of our financial crime prevention team, responsible for building and maintaining robust working relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Leverage exceptional communication skills to develop and maintain strong connections with external stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation.
  • Act as the designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer, overseeing all financial crimes-related matters with local regulators, and driving compliance initiatives forward.
  • Regularly update senior management on financial crimes and supportability initiatives, policies, and issues, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Manage financial crimes and supportability programs across regions, implementing strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the Financial Crimes Compliance Risk Oversight Organization to localize global controls and processes, promoting consistency and effectiveness.
  • Participate actively in business strategy discussions, providing input and guidance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring seamless execution and optimal outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8+ years of combined experience in financial crimes, payments, banking, regulation, law firms, and/or audit firms.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory engagements, with a strong understanding of relevant legislations and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the payments industry, including regulatory requirements and best practices in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Able to interpret complex legal guidance into actionable advice, and develop operational policies and systems-based solutions.
  • Capable of navigating ambiguous situations, making sound compliance decisions when necessary, and driving resolution.
  • Able to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • An effective 'culture of compliance' mentality, promoting a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
