Job Title: Mission Critical Design Expert

Anduril's Product Design team is responsible for designing various form factors across multiple products. We are changing the way our military operates, from strategic commanders overseeing missions to forward-deployed operators controlling autonomous systems.

You will own the lifecycle of design for mission-critical features and end-to-end workflows, having an immediate impact on real-world operations. You will design novel interactions that push human-to-machine control boundaries.

From customer immersion to synthesizing feedback, cross-org collaboration to shipping high-quality experiences, you will leverage design thinking to solve complex problems in challenging scenarios. Our design principles revolve around trust, safety, and intentionality.

This role partners closely with vertical teams and customers touching on all-domain command & control, in-vehicle experiences, submersibles, autonomy, and more. This is a foundational role with opportunities to shape the design function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to product and design strategy direction and decision-making
  • Own design execution from discovery, ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation
  • Use storytelling to align stakeholders in your design process
  • Play a key role in shaping operator workflows' end-to-end experiences
  • Maintain high craft standards driving novel experiences and bringing results back to evolve the underlying platform experience
  • Balance tactical bets while making meaningful progress towards long-term pursuits
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of industry experience
  • High attention to detail and mastery of visual and interaction design
  • Ability to clearly articulate work rationale, process, and impact
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Facilitation skills to lead workshops with customers and/or stakeholders
  • Familiarity leading user research sessions to validate work
  • Opinionated about design operations and efforts to increase team efficiency
  • Demonstrated proactiveness in helping to shape team culture and mentorship participation
