Systematic planning, prioritization, and reporting; continuous improvement; capability uplift; and functional integrity are key components of this position.

The External Affairs Operations team is comprised of members who have the opportunity to rotate through different teams in the External Affairs function.

Team goals and activities include embedding the External Affairs strategy and bringing it to life, enabling a One External Affairs culture, and streamlining the everyday.

This role requires timely and accurate reporting to drive insight that enables internal and external customers to make informed decisions.

Developing and communicating insights that guide data-driven action and decision-making is also a critical aspect of this position.

The ability to define and structure business problems, design analytics solutions, access and clean data, and prepare it for analysis is essential.

Determining the underlying cause of problems and evaluating multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems is also necessary.

Engaging with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders, sourcing information, planning, and conducting analyses to support evidence-based decision-making are additional responsibilities.

Identifying, implementing, and evaluating the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of BHP systems and processes is also a key component of this role.

  • Excellent Microsoft Suite and Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and compliance data
  • Project management skills to coordinate new and existing programs and events
  • Attention to detail and strong commitment to company values/purpose
  • Professional verbal and written communications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, International Relations, Communications, Legal, or Business
  • Strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised
