The role of a Project Scheduler and Coordinator involves developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 software. This position requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, comprehensive, and aligned project schedules. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining a Master Schedule for the Sustaining Capital Works Program, creating Baseline Schedules for Major Projects, and producing weekly progress reports.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a Master Schedule for the Sustaining Capital Works Program.
  • Create Baseline Schedules for Major Projects.
  • Measure physical progress on the project on a weekly basis and produce weekly progress reports.
  • Produce progress reports for the Leadership team.
  • Communicate with Project Managers on schedule status, variances, and performance metrics.
  • Provide re-forecast reports as required.
  • Coordinate schedule-related activities and resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Create 'what if' schedules as required.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement or optimization of project systems, processes, quality, safety, and resolve problems.

Necessary Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in project scheduling using Primavera P6 software.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 software, including creating and managing schedules, assigning resources, and generating reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in construction scheduling.
  • Previous experience of at least 5 years as a Planner or in a similar role on a large-scale project.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Heavy industry and/or Mining industry experience, preferably in open-cut mine operations.
  • Experience in other Planning tools (MS Project) and PowerBI report development.
